Nichols Crowder Property Solutions was formed in July, 2007 by Matt Nichols and Michael Crowder signifying the union of two renowned local real estate families and three generations of real estate history. Together with Richard Wraith and Meaghan Nichols they have created a leading commercial and industrial real estate agency well on its way to making history of its own.
Crowders Real Estate
Crowders was formed in 1952 by Michael's grandfather John and uncle Ian. By 1958, Michael's father, Geoffrey joined the business and together they went about forming the largest and most successful real estate agency with 8 offices in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.
Crowders was a highly regarded family real estate business that is credited with establishing much of the Frankston CBD and strongly influencing development on the Mornington Peninsula. It specialised in the sale, lease and management of residential commercial, industrial and retail properties for over 54 years until it was sold in 2006.
Eric Weber & Company and Nichols Weber Property Solutions
Matt's grandfather, Eric Weber was an entrepreneurial young man commencing business at 17 years of age at 325 Collins Street, Melbourne in 1922. Over the next 30 years he dominated the market emerging as a pioneer of land subdivision auctions with many being carried out under a marquee.
Years later he offered a job to a young butcher, John Nichols who was dating his daughter. John went on to become one of Melbourne's most celebrated and much-in-demand auctioneers. President of the REIV in 1971 - 72, John set up numerous offices around Melbourne. The family sold the business in 1988 to Carmichael and the name changed to Carmichael Weber.
Matt himself worked with the larger corporations such as Knight Frank and Colliers International and spent a few years in Jakarta and Singapore, specialising in each property sector. Not long after his return to Australia, Matt set up Nichols Weber Property Solutions, honoring his family heritage.
Initially based in the CBD, he moved the business to the Bayside precinct and with a geographic focus, the business flourished.
